Mt. Vernon High School Girls Basketball Team

For many years, painter, sculptor, teacher and photographer Barry Mason has focused his lens on the vibrant religious and cultural communities of Mount Vernon, New York, where he makes his home. He documents religious ceremonies, family celebrations and church events at Grace Baptist Church, where he is a member of the congregation. He also records events at a variety of Mount Vernon venues. Mason’s commercial clients include GE and L’Oreal. Mason has taught photography at the Horace Mann School and at ArtsWestchester. His paintings and sculpture are frequently exhibited in group shows including, in 2018, exhibitions at the Katonah Museum of Art, the Pelham Art Center, Atelier Newport (Rhode Island), the Garner Arts Center Festival in Garnerville New York, the ACBAW Art Center in Mount Vernon, and the ArtsWestchester Triennial.
