Mughal Shamsah

A painting inspired by the traditional Persian shamsah (or sun) design painted in large scale. Shamsahs are often used as the opening page of an illuminated manuscript. This is an eight-petalled design witha gold centre and richly-decorated wreath composed of stylised spirals, leaf and flower motifs.
