"My interest in quilting began in the early eighties but it wasn't until 2001, after attending a large quilt show, that I became interested in competing. In 2005, I entered my first competition and much to my surprise, I won a first place ribbon. I was hooked! I get bored following printed quilt patterns because I already know what they look like. So I found myself designing my own quilts with scrappy blocks to hold my interest. Antique round and detailed blocks are my favorites. I like to put my on spin on them, along with unusual layouts and backgrounds. Quilting is my 'go to' comfort zone. I find such peace spending hours in my sewing space leaving life's worries behind."
