The fabric for this gown is woven with flax as the warp threads and fireweed fibers as the weft. In its original plain color, the fabric looks simple and comfortable, with clearly-defined natural creases. Thanks to the large number of holes creating by the flax warp crossing the fireweed weft, this garment has very good air permeability. The nakhi people has also innovated the weaving of fireweed cloth by adding colored cotton threads to create geometric and floral patterns.
