Duclère succeeds in depicting an almost complete view of the city of Naples, of which we can still partly see today the so-called “Canocchia” or “Scudillo.” It is an area extending near the Capodimonte hill, and it was particularly loved by landscape artists during the 19th century, especially Giacinto Gigante.
