Pamphlet. National Union of Societies for Equal citizenship : object and programme : Affiliation Rules : library and Information Bureau Charges. Following the relative success of the enfranchisement campaign, the National Union of Women's Suffrage Societies broadened their scope into social and economic fields, working family allowances and the political education of women. The newly named National Union of Women for Equal Citizenship was formed in 1919 and during the 1920s they continued to campaign for the equal voting rights as well as confronting issues such as restrictive legislation which limited working hours only for women in industrial trades. Such policies were regarded as paternalistic or protectionist and were supported by other feminists of the time.
