This is a tool used to make or mend clothes by running thread through it. It is thin and has a pointed end and a hole in the head for threading. It is made mostly of iron, while animal bones or wood were also used occasionally. Fine needles are used for producing or mending clothes, while thicker ones are for sewing coarser fabrics such as gamani (large straw-woven sack).
