This work uses subtle colours and textures to promote a sense of calm in the viewer, in line with Simon Callery's belief that people too often stand in front of a work "consciously ordering it" instead of "absorbing an experience." London-born Callery was one of the artists included in the infamous Young British Artists III exhibition at the Saatchi Gallery, along with Damien Hurst and Tracey Emin.
