Born in Eagle Lake, Texas, Ayars studied at the Museum School, Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, and with Houston’s Frederic Browne and Taos artist Emil Bisttram. She exhibited in the Houston annuals, the Texas Centennial Exposition, Artists of Southeast Texas, and at Rockefeller Center in 1936, and had a solo exhibition at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, in 1934. Ayars exhibited Negro Girl Life at the 1934 Houston annual at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston.
