Dix's Field was part of a Georgian residential development that was built outside of Exeter's city wall between 1790 and 1810. This photograph was taken by Margaret Tomlinson for the National Buildings Record. Within a matter of weeks, the house was destroyed during a Luftwaffe bombing raid on the city. Tomlinson later returned to Exeter to record the damage.
