The Kumasaka mask with humorous-looking round eyeballs are exclusively used for “Kumasaka” and “Eboshiori.” Both appear on the stage as a robber named Kumasaka Chohan, who is subdued by Ushiwakamaru (a famous warrior, later Minamoto no Yoshitsune). The outstanding characteristic of the mask is the fin-like hanging flesh between the eyes. A similar mask without the hanging flesh is called Chorei-beshim.
