The lighter-colored Hannya mask is called Shiro (white)- hannya. The mask is worn by Rokujo-miyasudokoro in “Aoi-no-ue (Lady Aoi).” Though she was a highborn and cultured lady, she becomes a demon, consumed with passion and jealousy, and she kills her rival in love.
