Suwon-si, South Korea

Nongseom Island was used by the US Air Force as a shooting range for 60 years after it was handed over to the US forces in Korea in 1955. However, it was eventually closed in August 2005 due to military accidents including bombing errors and damages caused by noise and vibration. Many other regions as well as the North Gyeonggi-do area continue to sustain damages as a result of the national division.
