"Noon Day Sun" ensemble. A: Dress in red, yellow, white and navy batik-type print in allover cowrie shell motif; mid-calf length; fitted bodice; scoop neck front and back; cap sleeves cut-in-one; dropped V waistline; full skirt; six hidden black pearl button closure center front bodice. Textile by Everfast Fabrics. B: Self fabric tie belt, wider in center, tapered toward ends; center front bow; sits at natural waist. C-D: Pair of shoes in black suede; open sides; gathered at instep and counters with suede strips crisscrossing at vamp; gold tone buckle; 1/2-inch platform sole, 1/4-inch stacked heel; cotton twill inner. Label, A: Joset Walker. Stamped, C-D: Town & Country. Worn with 2013.5.101A-C and 2013.5.102.AB. Part of "Woman of Fashion 1947" presented at the Costume Institute by Bloomingdale's in honor of the department store's 75th anniversary.
