Since the seventeenth century the public deeds had to be supported, in order to have validity, in a paper bearing a stamp with the arms of the nation, the price of each sheet and its class. It was the materialization of the stamp duty and with it was contributed to the collection objectives of the Crown. This role changed with each new reign. In this deed is reflected how, due to the scarcity of paper that was in the War of Independence, the existing paper is reused by adding a note specifying that it was valid for another monarch other than that on the seal.
