In 1928 Levy was appointed a special instructor in life drawing at Manchester University School of Architecture upon the recommendation of his former tutor Alphonse Valette, whom he succeeded. This work is likely to have been executed quickly as a teaching exercise and is neither signed nor dated and less finished than Levy's other works in the Collection Here, Levy takes a typical life room female nude but adds interest by observing the figure from an unusual angle, seen from above.
