English Heritage

A white tin-glazed, earthenware ointment pot with traces of cobalt blur decoration dating to 1740-63. This ointment pot was probably made in Lambeth or Vauxhall in London, and would have been filled by an apothecary with ointment and sold. It would have had a paper or parchment lid tied on around the top.
