He received the following awards: 1st medal for Painting at the National Society of Fine Arts; 2nd place of Silva Porto Award, from the National Secretariat of Information in 1945; Scholarship José Malhoa, in 1945; 1st medal for Drawing at the National Society of Fine Arts, in 1957.
