Postcard, cardboard, printed, monochrome photographic image of a suffragette procession in Oldham led by horse drawn carriage and a banner, moving along shop lined street, tram to left of procession, manuscript inscription front: 'Oldham Suffrage Demonstration. 19/12', manuscript inscriptions reverse: 'Oldham Society for Women's Suffrage non-party non-militant 5 Oct 1912 Procession of 211 members through the town from Alexandra Park to Wernette Park where a Mass Meeting was held, attended by between two and three thousand people. There were 3 platforms & the speakers included Miss Margaret Robertson, Councillors Mrs SA Lees, Sir William Barton MP and the Rt Hon JR ?. A resolution was passed calling upon the Government to introduce a measure of Women's Suffrage in the proposed Reform Bill. Mrs Councillor Lees (Later Dame Sarah Lees) is seen in the carriage, her daughter as President walked in the procession'.
