The work comes from a Roman Domus of the fourth century. A.D. it is the only example of decoration in opus sectile, almost totally recovered and dated with precision. The adoption aims to enhance and disseminate the knowledge of a museum, which perhaps by virtue of the decentralized location, is still little known and visited. We think that the decoration of Porta Marina per se already deserves a trip to Italy and Rome for the uniqueness and beauty of the building. With a view to the training of students, we think that the knowledge of this work of the late empire located in a peripheral museum is the viaticum to lead the students to the knowledge of a museum spread throughout the territory represented by all the floor decorations of the medieval churches they have decorations in opus sectile (cosmatesque style), that is, the evolution of that style that comes from the type of work adopted.
