Nairobi, Kenya

This ornament is made by women to be worn by young men. Brown, yellow, green and red coloured threads are woven in square pattern on crossed stick frame. This method and design is normally used by arabs however it was borrowed by the boni for this piece. The ornament is worn by the young men just before a wedding ceremony begins when they want to get drunk.
