This collared ring, possibly a hair ornament, with a crown-shaped top and finely carved open-work along its entire flange, exemplifies the jade carver’s art of the Shandong Longshan culture. The date and cultural affiliation of this object were unknown until the recent archaeological discovery of a similarly decorated hair pin at Zhufeng in Shandong province.
