This statue portrays Orpheus, Greek god of Music, smilingly discarding his lyre with his left hand, and holding aloft an Edison Disc Record. The Edison Phonograph Jobbers presented this statue to Edison in 1922. "Orpheus" is almost life-size, and is portrayed sitting on a tree stump, with a panther at his feet. Statue is set on a wood base stand. Engraved on side "L. Taft. Sc. 1922"
