Half-length portrait, en face right, in background view of landscape with a white two stored building. King Oscar I is dressed in the uniform of the general staff, decorated with the ribbons of the Orders of the Sword, Norden Star, Vasa and the King Karl XIII. The portrait is painted immediately after Oscar I's succession to throne in 1844. It is signed: "E. WAHLBERGSON PINX 1844".
