Choreographer: Mats Ek

As a choreographer, Mats Ek’s focus lies in the dramatic expression of dance, which partly explains his choice to work with older, more experienced dancers for the lead in 'Over There'. The three leading dancers even performed together with Ek when he was a dancer at the Nederlands Dans Theater ten years earlier. Their roles - man, women and boy - form the framework for the ballet. The dramatic quality lies in the feelings that the dancers express (desire, rebellion, joy and sadness), rather than their background.
