Some sailors, such as Juan Bautista Balazó and Antoni Barceló, gained fame and nobility titles from fighting against North African corsairs. This votive offering recalls one of such battles won by Antoni Barceló. On the left we can see the Virgin of Montserrat and the Virgin of la Cisa watching a naval battle off the Alicante coast, between Benidorm and Vila Joiosa. Two Spanish xebecs with square rig are clashing with two Moorish vessels. Underneath there are the names of three Christians who were captured by corsairs and rescued by Barceló. The text states: "Ex-voto from the 21st day of January 1766, we were restored by Don Anton Barceló and the intercession of the Virgin Mary".
