Made in Turkey, these ceramic vases were later mounted with gilt bronze in Paris and turned into decorative ewers. Turkish ceramics were admired during the Rococo period for their ornamental vocabulary of arabesque (tightly spiraling, sinuous leaf pattern) motifs.
