This photo was displayed in ‘Al-Nakheel’ Exhibition in 2015 at the hall of the Iraqi Plastic Artists Association in Al-Mansour, Baghdad.
The artist Talib Mekki wanted through this exhibition to focus on and draw attention to the tragedy and the serial massacres of palms in Iraq, which claimed the lives of more than 15 million palm trees, this exhibition which could be called ‘The Palm Massacre in Iraq’, was a cry in an open space that echoes, awakening the sleepers to this tragedy.
