Palmeira (Palm Tree) is part of the series of sculptures called "In Natura", composed of 37 trees made with metal sheets cut by laser, made by Elizabeth Titton. In this series, the artist combines art with industry, facilitating reproduction, but guaranteeing the quality of the work of art. “In Natura” evokes the artist's affective memories and marks the development of her experiences with sculpture since the 1970s. Elizabeth Titton was born in São Paulo (SP) in 1949 and moved to Curitiba in 1957. She graduated in Business Administration from the Federal University of Paraná-UFPR in 1973. In the middle of that decade, she entered as a student in the sculpture course at the Curitiba Center of Creativity and shortly afterwards as a student at the School of Music and Fine Arts of Paraná, graduating in Painting in 1982 and where she was a teacher from 1990 to 2006. She has a Master in Education from UFPR (2000).
