The Palmwine and Poetry Evening at Ake Festival 2017(fifth edition) featured 5 female Nigerian and international poets; Ladan Osman, Aduke Gomez, Maryam Bukar Hassan, Poetra Asantewa and Koleka Putuma. T hey shared their magical and riveting performances with us. As usual, the audience was also treated to chill, deliciously sweet palmwine. Poetry and palmwine from those plantations on the outskirts of Abeokuta are a perfect match.
