Following the arrival of 'new age' publishing houses which have taken over from the colonial behemoths, the main criticism that they receive is that they largely publish books that they received a stamp of approval from the West. This is to say that not enough is being done to develop home grown talent. This panel explored the commercial environment that publishers have to contend with in Africa and how they deal with the explosion of digital age and social media.
