In 1944 General Foods offered a premium by mail, likely for sending in box tops from General Mills brand cereals. World War II was still raging in Europe and the Pacific, and the firm offered paper airplanes to assemble and fly. Each pack contained one Allies and one Axis plane replica, with instruction for assembly and suggestions for flight play. It took careful cutting and gluing to make these models look just right.
