Dolly Dingle, the adorable little paper doll created by Grace Dayton for "Pictorial Review," traveled around the world and introduced the magazine's readers to children from distant lands. Each of Dolly's new foreign friends came with little stories to read and native costumes and symbols to cut out. Dolly's travels appeared at a time when advances in technology and communications fueled Americans' interests in the peoples and customs of faraway nations.
