"The Partridge Family," a TV series that aired in the early 1970s, recounted the adventures of the family that worked as a rock band. Teen heart throb David Cassidy and pretty Susan Dey captured the teen audience, while seasoned music and dance star Shirley Jones as the Partridge Family's mom led credibility to the family enterprise. The Partridge Family produced a number of songs performed on the show that, when released on albums, became hits on the pop charts. David Cassidy also enjoyed fame and celebrity as a solo artist on albums and single hits.
