With this tape recorder the recording is made on a paper ribbon coated with a layer of iron oxide. This layer, which was also called ‘rust,’ is where the recording is written. The recorder consists of a wooden cabinet with a built-in speaker. The paper ribbon is wrapped around a plastic coil.
