Parcel-gilt silver dish with honeycomb decoration, an engraved depiction of the Prophet Elijah in the centre, a dedicatory inscription by the furrier’s guild to the metropolitan cathedral of Adrianople, and the date 1668. Exceptional work, signed by the craftsman Karamanlis Karatzas who, as his name suggests, must have been from the Karamania region in central Asia Minor. Diam. 0.41 m. (ΓΕ 34326)
