Child's bonnet that was an element of traditional dress in Ansó (Huesca) known as parrot dress (traje de periquillo). It was worn by girls and boys on their confirmation day. This one dates from between 1880 and 1920.
The bonnet comprises a main body and a central crest section. The inside is lined with white linen and the outside is covered with rich silk brocade fabrics and silk ribbons decorated with passementerie trims. The front section has a striking silk damask ribbon tied in a bow. The whole thing is decorated with floral and plant motifs.
