Full title: "Litvanicarum Societatis Jesu historiarum provincialium pars primum".
History of the Jesuits of the Province of Lithuania is an original work in two parts by Jesuit historian and Vilnius University professor Stanislaus Rostowski (1711–1784). The first part, published in 1768, discusses the years 1564–1664. The second part, which discusses the second half of the 17th century and the 18th century, remained in manuscript form. Rotowski based his work on documents from the archives of the Jesuit Province of Lithuania and collected a lot of information on Lithuanian Jesuit Colleges, the subjects they taught, and the professors and events in Vilnius University. The book also describes the adoption of Christianity in Lithuania and the beginning of the Reformation in Vilnius, the wars fought by the King of Poland and Grand Duke of Lithuania Stephen Báthory and later rulers, and the Jesuit mission in Samogitia in 1583–1618.
