The Patachitra depicts popular folklore of 'Wedding of Fish', where all the fishes have been invited to the marriage of the Dariya fish, except the monster fish. During merry-making and feasting, the fishes do not realise that danger is looming large. The monster fish is a Boal fish that pops up and swallows all other fishes because he was not invited to this wedding. This is a popular subject of Patachitra painting and all the artists paint this story in their own ways.
