This work is ink and color on paper. The painter's style calls to mind "The Four Monks of the early Qing," but in this work the brushstrokes and use of color and ink suggest the charm and grace of the Jinshi School, another circle of Qing dynasty painters. The composition is full and rich, the brush strokes simple and unhurried. The brush is drenched with watery black ink, giving the leaning boulder dark-blue, moist appearance. The subject matter is similar to that often seen in Jinshi paintings. However, the style differs from works by Jinshi painters in China; in its unmannered simplicity, the work is more evocative of Taiwan. Inscription: "Peaches three-thousand years in the ripening, Wuchen year (1928), second intercalary lunar month. For Ciqin. Wu Fei, Shih-ching, Wu Fei." Seal: "Shih-ching huapi (畫癖: addicted to painting) "
