This type of pendant (well-known “retablitos”) were kept at the jewellery of the Basilica of the Pilar (Zaragoza, Spain) possibly offered as votive offerings, make in a workshop of the Crown of Aragon. Possibly, this piece, and another of the same features as also part of the Lázaro Collection, was able to leave the Basilica del Pilar in 1870 when it was sold some of the jewels to pay for the works of one of the towers.
