Botanist Kitichate Sriditch discusses the role of flora, such as plum blossoms and peonies, in the mural art of Buddhaisawan Chapel.Buddhaisawan Chapel was built in the early Rattanakosin Period as the private chapel of the Front Palace Viceroy. The mural paintings inside the chapel depict scenes from the life of the Buddha, and are painted in the classical two-dimensional style typical of the early Rattakaosin (Bangkok) Period. Buddhaisawan Chapel was one of the original structures built in the Front Palace, and the structure still remains today as part of the National Museum Bangkok.
