It´s for religious use, in the rite of `Habdalá ' (= separation) that is the end of `Sabath ', in which is said a benediction on this box of aromatic smells. They are used also to eliminate the smell of the sacrificed animals and in other sacrifices, in the belief of which the smell was agreeable to God as it it was to the men.
