Roohi Ahmed is an artist who has been consistently engaged in minimalist constructions composed with everyday objects such as the sewing needles. In this particular series of work, Ahmed takes the meaning of these mundane objects to another level with provocative titles to the compositions of the needles she assembled on a wooden board. The titles such as (Hamla (Attack) Taiyyar (Ready) Pesh Qadami (Advance) are interpreted here in the context of the war zone, even while they seem to be having significant presence in the everyday use of the language.

The juxtaposition of these works combined with the provocation offered by their titles refer to the political and military terminologies through which the neighbouring nations of India and Pakistan interact with each other.
