Peti (Chest)

Peti were mostly recorded in the Malwa region of Punjab. They usually have only painted decoration and are devoid of elaborate ornamentation like carvings. The top portion of the peti is often covered with a cloth and additional objects are stored over it. These are removed when anything from inside the peti is required.
