During World War 2, some bike enthusiast designed the four-seater Phatphatiya (as the vehicle was called) using the Harley Davidson Motorcycles. The Phat-phatis were not just another means of transport but were a part of Delhi’s nouveau culture.

The 500-1300 c.c. motor cycles engines were attached to a bright passenger boot complete with an equally bright painted umbrella. Red top with floral motifs. Peacock figures, parrots and flowers are painted with different colour on body.
The displayed object is beautifully painted by Pakistani artist. The traditional Jhalars were used to decorate the object. The flower motifs, peacock and other birds are painted using enamel paint.
