Philipp Melanchthon

The furnishing of the “Schöner Saal” (beautiful hall) can be understood as the first step on the way to the museumisation of the house. The walls are decorated with twelve life-size full portraits of the painter Christoph Ernst Rothe, including that of Philipp Melanchthon.
