In the 1950s, radio manufacturers gradually shifted their focus from stylistic features to improving the acoustic quality of sets. This shift marked the beginning of radios with multiple sound outlets.

This version of the bakelite radio was popular for its wide-set form and two speakers. This radio also features extra sockets for tape recorders and other devices that could be linked and played through its speakers.
