Photograph

Chess is one of our most ancient of war and strategy games, and even though the game has roots in medieval Europe, a mid-twentieth century mother and son concentrated on a game in 1960. At least, that is what the photographer wants us to believe. Sometimes photographs, even for family use, are staged for comic effect. They certainly seem intent on a game.
