Lynn Museum's collection of pilgrim badges is one of the finest in the country. This example was found locally and St Margaret is the patron saint of King's Lynn. It is circular with a loop at the top. The badge depicts St Margaret killing the dragon. St Margaret stands in the centre wearing robes and a crown, in one hand she holds a cross. The dragon is at her feet, the base of the cross appears to enter the dragon's mouth. The design is very similar to the stained glass window titled 'St Margaret of Antioch' at King's Lynn Minster. The reverse has lettering in the centre surrounded by a zigzag border. The badge was found by a donor at Congham, wash-pit field, while metal detecting during the early 1970's.
